Sligo showjumper Richard Howley produced an excellent performance on Sunday night whic saw him take victory in the five-star Grand Prix at Coapexpan in Mexico.
Howley, riding Zodiak Du Buisson Z, was one of just five first round clears and went on to post a winning jump-off time of 40.74.
Germany’s Daniel Deusser finished as runner-up with Gangster V/H Noddevelt, with Switzerland’s Janika Sprunger and Orelie taking third.
Howley won back-to-back Grand Prix events in Oslo and Helsinki last October, and had been in contention for Ireland Olympic selection in 2024 – but just missed out on being a final pick for Paris.
