Gardaí have arrested a man in relation to the attempted bribery of a footballer during the current League of Ireland season.
The man in his 30s was arrested on Tuesday, and was detained at a Garda station in the Western region.
He has since been released without charge, and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone with information in relation to match-fixing or sports corruption to report it via the Bribery and Corruption Confidential Reporting line at 1800 40 60 80, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or at their local Garda Station.
