Over 40 seriously injured pedestrians on Donegal roads



Donegal recorded one of the highest total number of seriously injured pedestrians from 2019 to 2023.

 

 

New data published by the Road Safety Authority shows that 43 pedestrians suffered serious injuries over the five-year period, putting it seventh nationally.

 

 

Dublin and Cork saw the largest number of seriously injured pedestrians, with half of pedestrian serious injuries occurring between the two counties combined.

 

 

Counties Sligo and Leitrim meanwhile were among the ‘other counties’ total of 281.

 

 

Overall, 1426 pedestrians were seriously injured on Irish roads from 2019 to 2023.
