Mica allegations heard on Dáil floor

Allegations that Donegal County Council secretly altered over 20 applications of those who were looking for remediation through the defective concrete block scheme has been brought before the floor of the Dáil.

An article in The Ditch alleges that 21 applications were changed from full demolition, as recommended by engineers, to a mixture of less expensive options.

Independent TD for Donegal, Thomas Pringle raised the issue with Taoiseach Simon Harris.

Deputy Pringle said he finds the details in the article “disturbing” and called on the Taoiseach to stand with affected homeowners.

In response, Taoiseach Simon Harris said he acknowledged Deputy Pringle’s concerns and will seek clarity on the matter from the relevant parties.
