Donegal MD sees most PPS numbers allocated to Ukrainian refugees

The Donegal Municipal District has been home the most Ukrainian refugees in the Ocean FM franchise area.

Figures highlighting the amount of Ukrainian beneficiaries of temporary Irish protection, up to the end of September this year, have been published by the CSO today.

The statistics released today have been based off the amount of PPS numbers allocated to refugees since arriving in Ireland when the war began.

The Donegal MD has been housing the most refugees up as far as September 29th, with 2,008 in the area.

Those figures show that there are more in Donegal than in any other MD in the county.

In Sligo, exactly 2,500 Ukrainian refugees have been given PPS numbers across the county. The Sligo Strandhill MD currently has the most, with 1,027.

This is followed by 953 in Sligo Drumcliffe, and 520 in Ballymote Tubbercurry.

Meanwhile in Leitrim, the stats show 491 in the Manorhamilton MD.

That’s the lowest number in Leitrim, behind 743 in Ballinamore, and 975 in Carrick-on-Shannon.

In total, over 109,000 Ukrainian refugees have been allocated Irish PPS numbers to date. However, it is not necessarily indicative of how many are currently residing in Ireland as some arrivals may have subsequently left.
