Eamon Scanlon added to Fianna Fáil ticket ahead of General Election

Fianna Fáil have this afternoon confirmed that Eamonn Scanlon will be added to their ticket to contest the General Election.

To date, sitting councillor, Edel McSharry, was the only candidate put forward after making it through the selection convention unopposed.

However, former TD Scanlon has now thrown his hat into the ring after being added by Fianna Fáil this afternoon.

He was first elected to Dáil Éireann in 2007, and again in 2016, having lost his seat in 2011. He also served as a Councillor in the Ballymote Tubbercurry Municipal District after being elected in the 2014 local elections.
