Section of R294 remains closed following road-traffic collision

A section of the R294 between Tubbercurry and Ballina remains closed following a fatal single-vehicle road traffic collision in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A man in his twenties died in the collision on the R294 at Drimina at around 3.45am.

Local diversions are in place are and arrangements for a post-mortem examination will be made in due course.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 2am and 4am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
