New Sligo outdoor centres move closer

Tenders are due to go out for two state-of-the-art outdoor centres in Sligo in the coming weeks.

The centres, which will be located in both Enniscrone and Rosses Point, will include a number of facilities, such as toilets, outdoor showers, changing areas and storage areas for outdoor and water sports.

The tenders are expected to go live online by the end of October, with funding of up to 650,000 euro made available for each project.

It’s hoped that the centres will be built to completion by the end of 2025.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Fine Gael Councillor Thomas Walsh says that both areas will benefit from the centres, particularly in the summer months.
