There is no immediate risk of homes being inspected and turf confiscated in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal amid attempts to crackdown on the sale of smoky fuels.
In the Draft Air Pollution Bill, there is the possibility that local authority staff could have the right to enter private dwellings to search and seize.
However, no more consideration will be given to the Bill before the Dáil dissolves, and will be a matter for the next government, should they wish to address it.
