Sligo intermediate football champions Eastern Harps cruised in the Connacht club championship semi-final on Saturday with a comprehensive 1-12 to 1-3 over Melvin Gaels of Leitrim.
The Kinlough men were short some of their county winning side – but Harps enjoyed almost total control of this contest, holding their opponents scoreless in the opening half to establish a 1-5 to 0-0 interval lead.
James Kiernan netted the goal in that opening 30 minutes.
While Gaels scored 1-3 in the second half, the damage had been done as Harps cruised to a nine-point victory.
Their prize is a Connacht semi-final meeting with Roscommon champions Elphin next Saturday (Nov 16th) in Dr Hyde Park at 1.30pm.
