Sligo junior football champions Ballymote booked their place in the next weekend’s Connacht club football semi-final thanks to a 3-11 to 1-10 win over 13-man Borncaoola of Leitrim in Sunday’s quarter-final, played at Markievicz Park.
The Roud Towers club led by 1-7 to 0-6 at half-time thanks to Oisin Brennan’s goal.
Brennan would find the net in the second half again, en route to Ballymote’s seven-point win over a gallant Bornacoola who dropped out of contention after two second-half dismissals following separate incidents.
Ballymote now prepare for a provincial semi-final away to St Barry’s of Roscommon next Sunday, Nov 17th, at 1:30pm.
