Sligo Rovers midfielders Daire Patton and Thomas Morley, and Finn Harps goalkeeper Oisin Cooney have all been named in the Ireland under-19 soccer squad for three Euro qualifiers against Moldova, Azerbaijan and Iceland over the next seven days.
It’s Patton’s first full international call-up, off the back of an impressive season for the Rovers U20s, which saw him make a number of appearances off the bench for the senior team and earn his first professional contract in the process.
It’s Mayo man Morley’s second call-up to the U19s in a number of weeks, having featured for Ireland in a friendly tournament in Croatia last month.
Harps keeper Cooney was also in that squad, and recently spent time on trial with Premier League side Nottingham Forest, alongside clubmate Gavin McAteer.
