Over half of cars failed the NCT test across the north west during October.
The statistics were made available on the official NCT website.
In total, just over 6,400 tests were carried out in Sligo, Carrick on Shannon, Donegal Town and Letterkenny centres throughout the month.
Letterkenny was found to have the highest pass rate, with 956 passes, which is 44.86% in total.
That was followed by Sligo, with a pass rate of 43.50%, 44.38% of a pass rate in Donegal Town and in Carrick-on-Shannon the pass rate was 39.83%.
Across the four centres, there was a total of 3,627 failures. 3,047 of those were major failures, with the remaining 580 listed as dangerous failures.
Sligo saw the highest number of dangerous failures, with 194, followed by Letterkenny with 169.
While Carrick-on-Shannon and Donegal Town had 112 and 105 respectively.
In total, the pass rate for the region was 43.63%, the major failure rate came in at 47.53%, with the dangerous failure rate accounting for 9.05% of the overall total.
