Sligo senior footballers suffered a third consecutive loss in Division 3 of the Allianz Football League on Sunday, with a 0-23 to 0-16 defeat to Laois in Portlaoise.
The Yeats County already slimline hopes of promotion evaporated in a game, which Laois controlled for much of the 70 minutes.
Sligo manager Tony McEntee conceded his side are now in a battle to avoid relegation.
