Major spike in drivers in Sligo & Leitrim caught without insurance

New figures show that there’s been a major spike in the number of drivers in Sligo and Leitrim caught driving without insurance.

In the Sligo/Leitrim Garda division alone, there’s been a 216% increase in the number of drivers caught driving without insurance between 2023 and 2024.

It’s the highest figure nationwide.

In Donegal, there was a 123% rise over the same period.
