€120,000 in funding has been awarded to 12 angling development projects in the north west from Inland Fisheries Ireland.
The projects are some of 50 angling development projects across the country which will receive funding to the value of €500,000 as part of the Capital Works Fund.
Five projects in Co. Leitrim have received funding totaling €32,200 for improving angling access in the county.
Drowns Fisheries Angling Walkways in Kinlough received the highest allocation of €10,000 with Herns Shore on Lough Allen, the Bonet river Community park, Rinn Shannon and district Angling club and Sheemore Angling club shring the rest of the funding for improved road access.
In Sligo the county council, Sligo Bid group and the Garavogue Salmon festival group will receive €35,500 to improve angling access to the Garavogue River at Stephen street car park.
The River Easkey Angling association gets €10,000 for the river Easkey development project while Sligo Anglers Association Fisheries are to receive €5,400 for the purchase of a lake boat and trailer.
Four projects in Donegal will receive funding with Buncrana Anglers Association receiving the most of €25,850
