In Grange, frustration over continuing saga of sewerage plant



The Mayor of Sligo, Councillor Marie Casserly, has spoken of the frustration of those living in the Grange area of North Sligo over a foul smell coming from the village’s sewerage plant.

Work was expected to start on desludging the plant earlier this year but nothing has happened yet.

Irish Water is currently completing the tender process for plants in Grange, Strandhill, Tubbercurry and Ballinafad.

The utility says it now expects to award the contract in June, with works to start in two months and taking 18 months to finish.
