An Post say they will replace a damaged post box at Ballinacarrow in the next two weeks.
The post box was removed from its position in front of the old filling station in the village last month. It is believed the box was damaged after a car collided with it.
This meant that locals had to travel to neighbouring towns in order to post their letters.
However, An Post has confirmed that the post box will be replaced in the coming two weeks.
South Sligo Fine Gael Councillor Dara Mulvey says the news comes as a relief to locals.
