Calls to speed up provision of new Four Masters School in Donegal



A Donegal TD says parents and pupils in Donegal Town should not have to wait until 2019 for work to start on the building a new primary school.

The Minister for Education and Skills has confirmed the project is now to go to the architectural and design stage.

It means design options can be prepared for the proposed site of the school, which is at present housed in temporary accommodation.

It has about 100 pupils, with the numbers growing every year.

The school is included in a six-year building programme, with construction scheduled in 2019 to 2021.

But Fianna Fail TD Pat the Cope Gallagher says this delay is not acceptable:
