Sligo Golf Club have launched a bid to host the Irish golf open next year.
The Rosses Point club has been proactive in tendering for the right to stage one of the European Tour’s top events.
The Co Sligo club hosts the West of Ireland Championship annually.
Club manager, David O’Donovan says there’s no reason why they couldn’t host the event, and he says it’s not just Sligo that would feel the benefits:
