Sligo athlete John McDermott finished the 2022 World Masters Athletics Championships in Finland on Sunday with a second gold medal for Ireland.
He anchored the men’s over-75 4×400 metres relay quartet to victory, ahead of the host nation – to add to his gold medal success in the individual 300m hurdles final last Wednesday.
Hugh McSweeney, Gerry O’Reilly and Michael Kiely made up the Irish relay team.
