63 people waiting for a hospital bed in North West

There were 63 people waiting for a bed at the two main North West hospitals this morning according to the latest trolley watch report.

48 people were waiting at Sligo University Hospital while a further 15 were waiting at Letterkenny.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has called on the Government and HSE to take action in light of what they have termed as serious hospital overcrowding while COVID hospitalisations continue to increase.

This comes as 532 patients are without a bed in Irish hospitals today coupled with 1,035 COVID hospitalisations.
