ATU Sligo to face Kerry in 2023 Sigerson Cup

The draw for the 2023 Sigerson Cup, third level gaelic football’s All-Ireland championship, was made in Croke Park on Wednesday.

ATU Sligo will face Munster Technological University Kerry in the opening round of the competition.

ATU Donegal, managed by Michael Murphy, will face DCU in the opening round.

Holders NUI Galway were paired against Maynooth.

The format of next season’s competition means the losers of ATU Sligo v MTU Kerry and Carlow v St Mary’s games will meet in a round 2B relegation play-off.

The losers of that play-off will lose their Sigerson status.

There is also a ‘back-door’ qualifier system, which means teams will get a second opportunity to progress in the competition should they lose their opening game.

ATU Sligo’s round 1 game is provisionally fixed for January 10th.

SETU Carlow v St Mary’s
NUI Galway (holders) v Maynooth
