Donegal captain Paddy McBrearty is to have surgery on his hamstring injury in a bid to be fit to lead his county into the forthcoming Ulster football championship.
McBrearty hurt himself a couple of weeks ago during the league loss to Tyrone in Omagh.
He was a spectator in Clones for Sunday’s 1-20 to 0-15 loss to Monaghan, a result which leaves Donegal bottom of Division 1 after three games.
Afterwards, manager Paddy Carr today reporters that McBrearty would be having surgery promptly to give him the best possible chance to be championship ready this season.
