Victim of Sligo train tragedy named locally



The woman who died after being struck by a train in Sligo has been named locally.

 

Jessica McLoughlin who was in her 40s and from Sligo town was fatally injured in the incident which happened at around 4pm yesterday.

 

The younger woman in her 20s who was seriously injured is understood to be related to the late Ms McLaughlin.

 

An investigation is underway and the area remains sealed off this morning.

 

It’s understood that three separate investigations will take place, involving the Gardaí, the Railway Accident Investigation Unit, and Irish Rails own internal examination.
