The newly elected Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council has described today as the peak of his political career.
Fine Gael Cllr Gerard Mullaney was elected at a special sitting of Sligo County Council this morning.
A number of Cathaoirligh and Leas-Chathaoirleach are being elected across Sligo and Leitrim today.
