Urgent need for more beds at Sligo University Hospital- Sligo Councillor



A Sligo Councillor believes changes can be made to the operating system at Sligo University Hospital.

Last week, Sligo University Hospital was among the top three in the country for numbers waiting on trolleys in figures published by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

Figures exceeded 50 on two occasions and did not record below 47 on the other three days.

With the increase in figures, Councillor Dónal Gilroy, who is a member of the Regional Health Forum West says the urgent need for extra beds is becoming more apparent:
