Ballyshannon & Bundoran gear up for some much needed housing

Both Ballyshannon and Bundoran are gearing up for some much needed housing.

It’s after a new housing development has been given the green light for Bundoran while plans are also afoot for other accommodation in Ballyshannon.

Conditional planning permission has been granted for a proposed development at Church Road, Magheracar.

Donegal County Council have set out 32 conditions for the developer, McHenry Asset Holdings Ltd.

The development will see the demolition of two detached houses and associated sheds which are situated on the site.

The new development will include the construction of 68 new dwellings and will be a mixture of detached, semi-detached and terrace houses.

The developer will have to adhere to the conditions imposed however if the development is to proceed.

This includes that the houses cannot be used as holiday homes, save for the granting of separate permission.

A communal open space and landscaped areas must also be provided and a construction management plan is to be submitted to Donegal County Council.

Meanwhile, Aonghus Murphy has lodged plans for the development of three self-contained one bedroom apartments at the former East Port Bar in Ballyshannon.
