People are being urged to exercise caution over a potentially toxic algae which is currently present in Keeldra Lough in Leitrim.
As a result, Leitrim County Council has issued a public notice warning not to swim in the lake or drink the water.
At this time of year an algal bloom or scum may appear on, or close to the shoreline of a lake.
The Council is warning that this bloom could be toxic.
