North West hospitals among the top four most overcrowded



Both Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals were the among the top four most overcrowded hospitals in the country today.

Letterkenny University Hospital was the second most overcrowded hospital in the country today in figures published by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

There were 37 waiting on trolleys at the facility this morning.

Elsewhere, there were 31 patients waiting for a bed at Sligo University Hospital.

University Hospital Limerick remains the country’s most overcrowded facility with 95 waiting for a bed there this morning.

Nationally, this morning’s figure stood at 396.
