Enniscrone Golf Club’s David Shiel is through to Saturday’s round of 18 at the South of Ireland Amateur Championship in Lahinch, Co Clare.
Shiel beat Omagh’s Jordan Hyland 2&1 in Friday afternoon’s Last 32 matchplay round – having beaten Conal Keenan (Belvoir Park) 7&6 earlier in round 1.
Shiel will play Mullingar’s Adam Smith in round 3 on Saturday.
Co Sligo’s TJ Ford, a former winner of this event in 2021 – and who works by day as Operations Manager at Lahinch Golf Club, was beaten by Donegal’s Donegal’s Ryan Griffin on the 19th.
