It’s emerged that the woman who died in this morning’s boat fire in Carrick-on-Shannon was a member of An Garda Siochana who was based in south Dublin.
The boat has since been moved to a secure slipway as an investigation into the blaze continues.
Emergency services were called to this scene this morning and the woman was pronounced dead a short time later.
There are no further details at this stage.
