Donegal clinch Boston senior football title

County star Jason McGee was Donegal Boston’s hero on Sunday night as his late goal and performance helped them lift the Boston senior football championship title with a 1-17 to to 1-16 victory over Connemara Gaels.

McGee produced an excellent display, scoring four points as well before receiving a red card in added time.

The Donegal team also included Killybegs clubman Jason Noctor and Shane O’Donnell (St Eunan’s).

In the intermediate final, Shannon Blues, a club with strong Easkey connections, took the honours beating Donegal Boston.

Shamrock Gaels Lee Deignan was part of the winning Shannon Blues team.

He returns home to Ireland this week to link up with Shamrock Gaels for the start of the Homeland Sligo senior football championship.
