A status yellow rain warning has been extended to counties Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
Met Éireann says further falls of heavy or thundery rain are likely along with strong winds at times, especially near coasts.
Spot flooding, difficult travelling conditions and wave overtopping on coasts can all be expected.
