Roses with North West roots to take to the stage tonight



The Rose of Tralee starts tonight.

 

32 women will showcase their talents over the next two evenings for the crown.

 

For the first time, Daithi O’Sé will have a co-host – Kathryn Thomas.

 

Fiona Weir, this year’s Boston & New England Rose, has Leitrim roots, her grandparents immigrated to Boston over 60 years ago. Her grandmother was originally from the Killargue/Manorhamilton area.

 

The London Rose, Amy Gillen, is from Letterkenny but has been living in the heart of London for the last number of years.

 

While this year’s San Francisco Rose Katie McFadden also has roots in the North West – her grandfather was raised in Donegal.

 

All three roses are set to take to the stage tonight.
