Donegal’s Mark English finished seventh in his semi-final heat of the men’s 800 metres at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest on Thursday evening.
His time of 1:45.14 was a season’s best but it was not quick enough to qualify for this weekend’s final.
The race was won by Emmanuel Wanyonyi of Kenya in a fast time of 1:43.84.
