Connacht miss out on interpro final despite win over Ulster

Sligo’s Grainne O’Loughlin was among the Connacht try-scorers on Satudray as they enjoyed a bonus-point 29-24 over Ulster in the final round of pool matches in the Vodafone interprovincial series at the Sportsground in Galway.

However, Leinster’s subsequent win over Munster on Saturday means that Connacht have narrowly missed on a place in the final, despite winning two of their three interpro games.

Ardara’s Laoise McGonagle (pictured) was among Connacht’s strongest performers when introduced in the second-half.

The Connacht starting fifteen included two Sligo natives: team captain Nicole Fowley and Riverstown’s Sonia McDermott in the pack.

Saturday’s Interpro Results
Connacht 29 Ulster 24
Leinster 26 Munster 19
