Early start for Lough Swilly Volunteer Crew

The Lough Swilly RNLI crew were tasked to come to the aid of a fishing vessel this morning.

The alarm was raised shortly after 7.40 this morning by Malin Head Coast Guard over the vessel that had lost power just off Ballyhoorisky.

While en route to the stricken vessel, the All Weather Lifeboat was stood down as the crew on-board the fishing boat had again established power.

The All Weather Lifeboat returned to Buncrana Pier to refuel and make ready for service.

The RNLI has issued a reminder that if you’re in difficulty in or on the water or see someone in trouble, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
