Lack of social housing in Killybegs ‘at breaking point’



A lack of social housing in Killybegs is said to be at breaking point.

 

The waiting list has increased while housing development in the area it’s not going at a fast enough pace to cope with the demand.

 

While some projects locally are ongoing, it could be years before hopeful tenants turn the key in the door.

 

Some people are reportedly living in caravans in the interim.

 

Local Independent Cllr Niamh Kennedy says it is an issue right across the country but something needs to be done to speed up the process:
