Frustration over absence of Taoiseach & Tánaiste from today’s Dail proceedings



A Donegal TD has expressed his frustration over the absence of both the Taoiseach and the Tánaiste from today’s upcoming Dail proceedings.

 

TDs return to Leinster House this afternoon following a ten week recess however Leo Varadkar and Michael Martin are currently overseas and won’t be present for a number of key debates on the likes of the cost of living, housing and the upcoming Budget.

 

The Dail is also set to debate a Sinn Fein proposal later today which seeks to provide mortgage interest relief of up to €1,500 a year, which it said could be funded through a hike in the banking levy.

 

However the vote on the motion has been put back until next week.
