Tubbercurry Golf Club celebrate All-Ireland title

Tubbercurry Golf Club claimed a first ever All-Ireland title on Friday when their men’s team lifted the AIG Jimmy Bruen Shield title for 2023.

The south Sligo club beat Gowran Park (Kilkenny) by four-and-a-half points to a half, in the final played at Westport Golf Club.

The prestigious foursomes competition saw Tubber claim victory in four of the five matches with the fifth foursomes contest halved.

That gave Mark Burke’s team a comprehensive victory and a first ever national senior title.

Tubbercurry team captain Mark Burke spoke with Ocean FM Sport’s Austin O’Callaghan after Friday’s historic win.
