Further arrest in Halloween assault investigation



Gardai have made another arrest in relation to this week’s serious assault in Sligo.

 

A 14 year old boy remains in a serious condition at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin following the incident which happened at the Apple Green Service Station on Mail Coach Road on Tuesday night last shortly after 7pm.

 

Gardai have confirmed that another teenager was arrested last night in connection with the incident.

 

He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Sligo.

 

Three other teenagers are currently before the courts in relation to the incident.

 

All three appeared before Sligo District court yesterday and were released on bail on a number of conditions including a curfew from 7pm – 7am and to have no contact with the victim or any potential witnesses.

 

The case has been adjourned to January 18th

 

Gardai say that investigations are ongoing.
