Cllr gets abuse over stance on arrival of refugees to Dromahair



A north Leitrim Councillor has confirmed that she has received abuse after attending an event in Dromahair last week which highlighted concerns local residents in relation to the arrival of refugees in the village.

 

Fianna Fail Councillor Mary Bohan was one of a number of elected representatives that attended the event on Wednesday last.

 

She says that over recent days she has received a number of calls and text messages accusing her of being anti refugee and a member of a vigilante group that was aiming to prevent refugees from coming to the north Leitrim area.

 

Speaking to Ocean FM news the Drumkeerin based councillor says she is a representing constituents who have legitimate concern over the arrival of large number of refugees to the village:
