Negotiations on a new bus service from Ballintrillick in to Grange are set to be at an advanced stage.
Pending approval from the NTA, the new seven day service will see a Local Link run from Ballintrillick as far as Cliffoney and then on to Grange, where it can connect with other bus services heading towards Sligo town.
The discussions have been ongoing for some time, as Ballintrillick was the only area in Sligo not to have such a service.
Speaking to Ocean FM News, Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy says the bus services play an important role in rural communities.
