Vocal support has been given for the potential repurposing of the OPW-owned Garda Station in Ballymote into a dedicated youth space.
Youth organisation Foroige have been pushing for the building’s transition into a youth and family resource centre.
Foroige services nationwide work with over 50,000 young people aged 8-24 each year through staff-led Youth Projects and volunteer-led Clubs.
Former Fine Gael Sligo-Leitrim TD John Perry has given his backing to the initiative, saying that it’s important that young people have more opportunities in rural areas.
