Carbury regain Super League title

Carbury FC clinched the Sligo Southern Hotel Super League title on Wednesday night with a 5-1 win against Cartron United at Ray MacSharry Park.

Two goals from Christopher (Cizzie) Kelly, Cian Kilcoyne, James Heraghty and Niall Brennan secured the three points for Carbury which means they cannot be caught by title rivals Gurteen Celtic who are now five points adrift with just one league fixture (v Carbury) to play.

It’s Carbury’s sixth Super League title in seven seasons – the only interruption being MCR’s league success 12 months ago.

Damien Dunleavy’s side now have the opportunity to complete a league and cup double.

They will play Cartron Utd again on June 1st in the final of the Frank Kennedy Memorial Cup.
