Gardai in Donegal have issued a countywide alert over reports of men calling to the homes of elderly people offering to sell power tools and generators.
It follows a number of alleged incidents in the Buncrana area today with reports of offers also being made in local retail car parks.
Gardai are asking members of the public to take note of any vehicles or callers in their area that appear suspicious.
People are also being warned not to buy items from these sellers and to advise elderly or vulnerable family members of same.
