Corpus Christi Procession comes to Sligo this weekend



An annual tradition in Sligo Town will again take place this weekend.

 

It’s the Corpus Christi Procession this Sunday evening, June 2, leaving the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception after the 7pm Mass there.

 

On its route through the town, the procession will be joined by groups and individuals from the parishes that make up the Sligo cluster of parishes.

 

They will arrive at the Abbey at 8:30pm, where Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will take place in the cloister area of the 13th Century Dominican Friary ruins.

 

Special guests for the event will be those who just made their First Communion, with treats for all afterward.
