A status yellow rain warning has been issued for a number of counties including Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
Heavy rain and strong and gusty southerly winds are expected with potential for localised flooding, damage to temporary structures, difficult travelling conditions and poor visibility.
The warning is in effect from 1pm on Sunday until 1pm on Monday.
Counties Clare, Galway and Mayo will also be under the status yellow warning.
