A status yellow rain warning has been issued for counties Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
The warning is valid from 10pm on Sunday night until 8am on Monday morning and affects the entire country.
According to Met Éireann, there will be spells of heavy rain with the possibility of thundery downpours. accompanied by strong and gusty winds at times.
People are also advised to prepare for localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.
